Virtual Tutoring Through 826 Michigan

Virtual Tutoring

Community Virtual Volunteering Updates:

This semester, we are partnering with 826 Michigan to continue providing after school tutoring assistance for students in the Ann Arbor Area virtually, via Zoom. 826 Michigan inspires school-aged students to write confidently and skillfully with the help of adult volunteers in their communities. You can read more about their program here! Placement at 826 would entail a weekly 1.5 hour commitment rather than 2 hours per week as in previous semesters. Unfortunately, due to limitations because of COVID-19, Peace Neighborhood Center has suspended all in-person tutoring temporarily. For now, we will tutor through 826 Michigan and will provide updates in the future.

Hospital Virtual Volunteering Updates:

In partnership with Michigan Medicine, OEC is offering free tutoring to the children of UMHS employees. We are continuing this program from the past school year, and we are looking forward to working with everyone this semester! Scheduling is flexible because tutors will develop their own schedule including the day of the week and time with each family, but cannot exceed 3 hr/week per child.

We are excited to be able to offer two virtual tutoring programs this fall between this opportunity and virtually tutoring the children of essential workers.  We encourage you to apply to both programs, as the demand for tutors is not yet known.

Fall 2022 application is currently closed.
